UPDATE: Two Liverpool stars could join Mohamed Salah from Saudi Arabia after an “ambitious recruitment drive”…

Liverpool could join the legends of three clubs active in the Middle East and lose more players to Saudi Arabia.

Former captain Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Roberto Firmino left Europe for the Gulf states last summer. Perhaps they will see more first-team stars make the same move at the end of the season.

The defensive duo of Joe Gomez and Joel Matip speak to Al Ettifaq Radio, according to talkSPORT’s Saudi correspondent Ben Jacobs. Under Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard, the former England captain successfully lured Henderson to the Prince Mohammed bin Fahd Stadium.

In an interview with Caught Offside, Jacobs revealed that the names of Gomez and Matip were discussed before the summer rush. Aston Villa’s Bertrand Traore also attended the three-hour “ambitious recruitment meeting” earlier this week.Meanwhile, former Liverpool player Ryan Kent has become a target for Etipac this month after being courted by Fenerbahce this season.

Some of those names are said to have been suggested to Henderson in a bid to convince the club to sign him amid reports he is keen on a return to Europe.Gomez, who has made 27 appearances for Liverpool this season, will stay at Anfield until 2027.
