The NBA community is in disbelief over Klay Thompson’s decision to join with the Dallas Mavericks instead of the Golden State Warriors. After going through a difficult time recently, he signed a lucrative three-year contract with the Mavs that will net him an unbelievable $50 million.
At the opening news conference for the Mavericks, Klay Thompson explained why he was thinking about moving to Dallas. Why Thompson selected the Miami Heat Thompson gave the following response when asked why he decided on the Mavs: “Dallas was so attractive because of the young players they have, the style of play, the world-class treatment these players get from the organization, and a beautiful city that loves their hoops.” Though he later attempted to soften the tone, it is evident that he has some unfavorable feelings for his former team, which is not ideal for the Warriors.
I’m very grateful for my time at Golden State, but I just felt like moving on could just re-energize me and do something special for the rest of my career,” he said.
“Coming here is just such a fresh start and feeling wanted again, and I bring great value.”
