The NFL has announced four designated “home teams” for international games in 2024, but the Denver Broncos are not among them.
The Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and Jacksonville Jaguars are scheduled to host games in London, England, while the Carolina Panthers will host games in Munich, Germany next fall.
It will be a “team”. We know the Broncos won’t be the “visiting team” for the London or Germany games because the Bears, Vikings and Jaguars aren’t on Denver’s 2024 schedule and the team’s game against the Panthers is at home. There is one more international game on the 2024 NFL schedule in Sao Paulo, Brazil, but the Broncos are unlikely to play in that game.
The Miami Dolphins may be selected as the “home team” for the game against Brazil, but that has not yet been officially announced (the NFL said Thursday that Brazil’s home team will be announced “in the coming months”).If Miami hosts Brazil as expected, Denver will not play in international action next season as the Dolphins are not on the Broncos’ 2024 opponent list.
Denver will play an international match in 2030, as every team must play at least one international match every eight years (the club played in London in 2022). If the Broncos are chosen as the “home team” of the future, Mexico will have the best chance of going overseas.
The NFL will not play international games in Mexico in 2024 due to the remodeling of Estadio Azteca, but the league plans to return to Mexico City once the remodeling is complete.
