Wilt Chamberlain scored 100 points
On March 2, 1962, Wilt Chamberlain set the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) single-game scoring record by scoring 100 points for the Philadelphia Warriors in a 169-147 victory over the New York Knicks at Hershey Sports Arena in Hershey, Pennsylvania. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest records in sporting history. Chamberlain established five other league records that game, including the most free throws made, which was a significant accomplishment given his reputation as a bad free throw shooter. The teams surpassed the previous record for most combined points in a game (316).
