Howe, whose assistant Darwin Nunez denied the Reds a win at St James’ Park in August, said: “We had a tough game against Liverpool. “Last season at Anfield was very difficult for us. This season was not easy. The good thing about both games is that we played very well, we were competitive and gave Liverpool a very good performance.
“We have to be perfect in this game. This is a very difficult game for us.” They did very well, especially at home, they were very consistent, they were a very good team. So we have to get back to our best form and be very strong mentally.”
