Three senior Manchester United players could leave the club this week.United failed to sign a single player as their activities were affected by Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s investment in a 25% stake in the club in January.
This is still subject to approval by the Premier League. The rest of the squad will be looking to compete well against the club, who currently sit eight points off the top four, performing well in the FA Cup and impressing the new INEOS team who run United’s football operations.
However, with the European transfer window closing, three senior players could leave the club this week. Galatasaray transfer Christian Eriksen could leave Old Trafford for a move to Turkey on Friday, February 9.According to ESPN, the club are considering an approach for Eriksen before the Turkish deadline, but a deal is highly unlikely to go through. Eriksen is likely to leave Manchester United, but Galatasaray are expected to increase their interest in the player this summer.
Anthony Martial, who is currently sidelined with a hip injury and has six months left on his United contract, is also said to have received an offer from Fenerbahce at the start of the transfer window. According to Sky Sports, Fenerbahce offered £6.8 million (about 6.8 billion won) last January and were the most likely to sign the player. The Turkish club may reconsider their move in the summer, but there is still time to take another look before the transfer window closes.
Meanwhile, Raphael Varane is set to join Al Nasr in the Saudi Arabian Professional League, with his United contract set to expire at the end of this season.Although the transfer window is currently closed, the underdog Frenchman could be tempted to move to major league football in the coming weeks and months. The US transfer window runs from January 31 until Monday, April 24, and a move to the US could be tempting for Varane if he continues to compete for playing time.
