The first Eastern Conference club to move on to the next round is the Boston Celtics. Wednesday night at the TD Garden, the Celtics defeated the Miami Heat 118-84 in Game 5 to take a 4-1 lead in the series. In revenge for their painful loss in the Eastern Conference Finals the previous year, Celtics supporters rejoiced after the victory.
Boston got out to a scorching start in the game, leading 41–23 at the half. They overpowered the Heat and never looked back, winning 34 points. The Celtics made a message with their victory, particularly considering that Miami made 23 3-pointers in Game 2 at home and lost.With 25 points apiece, Jaylen Brown and Derrick White led the way for the Celtics. Sam Hauser scored 17 points off the bench, and Jayson Tatum contributed 16 points, 12 rebounds, and three assists. Miami’s one bright spot was Bam Adebayo, who finished with 23 points, five rebounds, and six assists.
