(REASONS) Liverpool fans may be happy as Mohamed Salah’s Egypt drop points…

Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt ended in a 2-2 draw with Mozambique.Seven-time record winner Mohamed Salah took the lead inside 90 seconds when he accidentally assisted Mostafa Mohamed, but it was all downhill before play was stopped.

Mozambique, ranked 111 in the world, scored twice immediately after the break, with former West Brom player Ahmed Hegazi in particular criticised.VAR awarded the Pharaohs a penalty in added time and Salah saved his side from defeat.

Egypt are 78th and 33rd, so they could barely win Group B, but they could be a huge challenge for Ghana and Cape Verde. The result will be good news for captain Salah and many Liverpool fans hoping for an early exit from Egypt. The 31-year-old is a modern legend at Anfield, with the side currently top of the Premier League and in contention for a top-four finish.

There are concerns that Salah, who has scored 27 goals in 27 games this season, may not be able to play until mid-February if Egypt reach the final. However, if the situation continues as it is now, Egypt may return home early as the group stage ends on January 22.
