The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders didn’t have much to cheer about in the wild card round. Not only did their team lose, but several cheerleaders seemed displeased with the way several Green Bay players acted during the Packers’ 48-32 victory.
Darian Lassiter, who just completed her fifth season as a Cowboys cheerleader, took to social media this week to explain why the Packers players’ alleged actions were so objectionable.
“In the five years I’ve been an NFL cheerleader, I’ve never seen a disrespectful cheerleader from another team,” Lassiter said at the Cowboys vs. Packers last Sunday. “We went about our business and the Packers scored. That’s an example. They came to us and stood on the sideline and did our business and started yelling at us.”
Lassiter also noted that Packers players confronted cheerleaders while yelling.”I think it’s unsportsmanlike conduct and you can’t do that to a Cowboys player or any other player, but you can do that to a cheerleader and nothing happens,” Lassier said. “I understand the playoffs are a big deal, they really are, but that doesn’t take away from the humility and respect for women.”
Lassiter wasn’t the only cheerleader who was uncomfortable with the way the Packers players were behaving. The biggest reaction to Lassiter’s TikTok video came from Cowboys teammate Jensen Merrill, who noted that the Packers players’ actions brought him to tears.
