Mason Mount, a recent addition to Manchester United, has been confirmed to be a member of the 26-man team that will travel to Oslo for tomorrow’s preseason matchup against Leeds United.
Mount, 24, made his debut against Leeds at the Ullevaal Stadion after joining United from Chelsea last Wednesday on a five-year initial deal. The England international will now aim to make his debut United appearance after training with his new teammates for the first time last Thursday.
Mount, 24, joined United from Chelsea last Wednesday on an initial five-year deal and he could make his debut against Leeds at the Ullevaal Stadion. The England international trained with his new teammates for the first time last Thursday and will now be looking to make his first appearance in United colours.
Mount has been joined in the squad by the likes of Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Jadon Sancho and Fred. United are currently thin on the ground in terms of senior stars after 15 players were granted extended summer breaks after appearing on international duty last month.
Diogo Dalot, Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, and Marcus Rashford, for example, won’t be involved in the match against the Whites. On Wednesday this week, they are anticipated to play their first preseason games against Lyon in Edinburgh.
The likes of Dean Henderson, Donny van de Beek, Anthony Martial, and Antony have all been left out of the traveling squad for the trip to Oslo despite being spotted in first-team training at Carrington last week. United has not declared the reason.
A flurry of youngsters have been named in the travelling party, including the likes of Alvaro Fernandez, Rhys Bennett, Dan Gore, Hannibal Mejbri, Shola Shoretire and Amad. The latter flourished on loan at Sunderland last season and is expected to have plenty of attention focused on him over the next few weeks.
