The Las Vegas Raiders begin head coaching interviews this week, but many of the team’s top players believe a decision should have been made.Stars like quarterback Maxx Crosby and wide receiver Davante Adams have said they would be full-time Las Vegas coaches in the future if Antonio Pierce chooses to do so. Many fans in Raider Nation applauded Pierce’s hiring as well.
The latest person to pay their respects to the beloved player was rapper, actor and longtime Raiders fan O’Shea Jackson, better known as “Ice Cube.” He’ll be a contender when he joins “The Pat McAfee Show” on Monday. “I think we should hire AP,” Jackson said. “In the National Football League, at the end of the day, the players are equal, and if you listen to them, who they’re playing for and you find them through a brick wall, you have to get out and you can’t let them go.
“And the Raiders have it in AP. They really want to play for this player. It must be respected. Let’s move on. What are we waiting?”Jackson and Pierce are both from Compton, California. Jackson, a lifelong Raiders fan, may be the franchise’s most famous fan when it comes to celebrities.
“I call him [owner Mark Davis],” Jackson said. “Perhaps I can assure him that as President of the Raider Nation, I welcome this message.”Jackson’s support for Pierce is mutual. While serving as interim head coach, Pierce became known for playing music at practices for Jackson’s former hip hop group, N.W.A., at the Raiders. Jackson and his band were famous for wearing Raiders gear in their heyday.
