Jalen Hurts in danger of missing Week 15 due to illness
Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles is battling an illness that could keep him out of Monday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.
Hurts was unable to practice on Friday due to illness. He was upgraded to questionable on Sunday, and according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the star quarterback’s illness worsened over the weekend. Hurts will still travel to Seattle, but separately from the rest of the team.
Hurts is coming off a disappointing effort against the Dallas Cowboys in Philadelphia’s 33-13 loss last week. The Eagles also looked outmatched in a 42-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers the week before, indicating that they have struggled against the NFC’s top teams.
If Hurts is unable to play on Monday, backup Marcus Mariota will take his place. The 10-3 Eagles are still tied for the best record in football, but if Hurts sits, they will face an uphill climb in a tough road game.
