The injury issues for the Golden Nuggets are worrisome
“San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan spoke with reporters ahead of Wednesday’s practice as the team prepares for its Week 17 game against the Washington Commanders.” “This is everything he said.”
“Williams took part a day after undergoing an MRI, and his early-week practice availability is seemingly a signal that he will be available when the 49ers visit the Commanders on Sunday.”
“Could Purdy’s near-misses likewise be partially excused? Perhaps. Snead, who has spent the majority of the season on the practice squad and has been targeted three times, appeared to be slow to circle around for the ball. Purdy’s throw to Samuel, albeit a little off-target, was catchable.
As Shanahan pointed out, neither pass was the result of Purdy being confused by Baltimore’s multiple defensive sets, which would be a worry for a new quarterback. Purdy was seldom deceived on his dismal night, according to Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey.
“It’s hard to stop that guy,” Humphrey said. “He makes all the right reads.” Even though he made a few mistakes tonight, he doesn’t make many.”
“Brown’s injury was not immediately known following the 49ers’ loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night.”
“There’s some concern,” Shanahan admitted. “We’re not ruling him out this week, but we’re worried.” That is why he is unable to attend today.”
“Each of Purdy’s turnovers were different, featuring a combination of bad decisions and bad luck.”
Two first-time eligible candidates are on the list of modern-era finalists: defensive end Julius Peppers and tight end Antonio Gates….There are four returning finalists from last year’s top 10: wide receivers Andre Johnson, Torry Holt, and Reggie Wayne, as well as defensive end Jared Allen.
Return specialist Devin Hester, defensive end Dwight Freeney, lineman Willie Anders, and safety Darren Woodson are also returned as finalists.”
