Altitude Sports Radio’s Darren “DMac” Mackey shared a photo of Janie’s awesome ice cream Saturday on Twitter/X as a gift he received from Denver Broncos head coach Sean Payton.”well… It’s the first time for me. “Thank you coach!” DMac commented on the post.
The ice cream note wished Mackie and her family happy holidays. Payton’s award has a history behind it.After the Los Angeles Rams controversially beat the New Orleans Saints 26-23 in the 2018 NFC Championship Game, Payton told reporters near the end of the season that he ate ice cream three days in a row. “For two or three days after the game, I didn’t leave my room like normal people, I just ate Jenny’s ice cream and watched Netflix.
There are some bad qualities that you find attractive. Maybe it’s sugar for me.”After sharing these happy accounts, Payton seems to have started a tradition of handing out Janie’s ice cream to the media after each season. The ice cream brand appreciated Coach’s shout-out, and we wouldn’t be surprised if they helped organize the tradition.
Peyton’s “vice” has become a marketing opportunity for the ice cream brand, and now Denver media can capitalize on it. Now that the 2023 season is over, it’s time to break up the Netflix and the ice cream.
