Turkish football has been rocked by the news that Victor Osimhen, Galatasaray’s star striker, has been banned for five matches following a review of the incident that occurred during the club’s recent Super Lig encounter.
The disciplinary committee released its findings earlier today, stating that Osimhen’s on-field conduct during a heated moment warranted a stricter punishment than initially expected. The ruling immediately sparked a storm of reactions across social media and among Galatasaray supporters, many of whom feel the decision is “unjust” and “targeted at a key player.”

Since joining Galatasaray, Osimhen has quickly become a fan favorite for his energy, goals, and fighting spirit — traits that have defined his game throughout his career. Fans now fear that his absence could heavily affect the team’s attacking rhythm as they prepare for crucial league and European fixtures.
Club insiders report that Galatasaray may appeal the decision, citing inconsistencies in how similar incidents have been judged in the league. Meanwhile, Osimhen himself has reportedly chosen to remain calm, telling teammates that he’ll “keep his focus and come back stronger than ever.”
The ban has not only frustrated Galatasaray supporters but has also fueled debate about refereeing standards and disciplinary fairness in Turkish football — a topic that continues to divide fans and analysts alike.
