The exact opposite of the clash with Arsenal. Liverpool face Burnley and everything seems to be going wrong for them to win. The Reds need to get this win if they want to be real title contenders. This is basically a “momentum” match where you either continue a big momentum or end it altogether. Again, you have to win. Liverpool know exactly what the title race looks like against Manchester City and they are in a different race.A match against a team in mid-table and at risk of relegation must end with three points and there is no room to drop a point. Liverpool are the biggest of the five teams looking for their first win of the season. This will be a repeat of the 2022 final, with Jurgen Klopp eyeing a second Carabao Cup after winning the competition in 2022.Of course, Liverpool will be the favourites.
The 4-1 win over Chelsea at Anfield certainly confirmed that and a repeat performance would guarantee a trophy.However, Manchester United fans will be hoping that Mohamed Salah shows his full potential in the final. Liverpool’s fifth game is special. They still don’t know who they will play or when the game will be. The Reds were drawn against either Watford or Southampton in the fourth round. This will obviously be a fifth round match and Liverpool are likely to rest several players for this game. This comes on the heels of the Carabao Cup final, which also saw them take on their Championship rivals.
