Liverpool manager Arne Slot has confirmed that the Reds will be without two important players for this weekend’s fixture after both Florian Wirtz and Conor Bradley picked up muscle injuries.
Slot revealed the news during his pre-match press conference, explaining that Wirtz’s issue is expected to be a short-term setback, while Bradley faces a slightly longer spell on the sidelines.
> “Florian Wirtz suffered a muscle injury and won’t be available this weekend,” Slot said.
“Conor Bradley also suffered a muscle injury. I expect Bradley to be out for the next three weeks; for Florian, it should be shorter.”
The update comes at a crucial moment for Liverpool as they try to maintain momentum in the Premier League race. Wirtz, who has quickly become an influential creative force since arriving at Anfield, will miss the upcoming match but could return sooner than expected depending on how he responds to treatment.
Bradley’s injury, however, is a bigger concern, with the young full-back set to miss multiple matches. His absence leaves Liverpool slightly stretched in the defensive positions, potentially forcing Slot to rotate or push a senior player into a deeper role.
Despite the setbacks, Slot expressed confidence in the squad’s depth and the ability of other players to step in.
Liverpool fans will now wait anxiously for positive recovery updates, hoping to see Wirtz return in the near term and Bradley back before the busy festive period intensifies.
