One of the first decisions Las Vegas Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce made with the team was a direct attack on the previous regime led by former New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. Owner Mark Davis’ hiring of Pierce is a sign that the Raiders are rejecting Bill Belichick and the “Patriot Way.”
NFL Network spokesman Mike Garafolo said Pierce will use his former New York Giants coach Tom Coughlin as a consultant to help the Raiders find their next coaching staff. Pierce’s decision to bring in Coughlin as a consultant was important after the Raiders’ highly touted meeting earlier this season.
