Trent Alexander-Arnold is expected to be out for “a couple of weeks” after injuring his knee with just over 20 minutes to play between Liverpool and Arsenal.
Redsassistant manager Pep Lindzinders announced on Tuesday that the vice-captain will be sidelined for some time after picking up the injury in Sunday’s 2-0 win over Liverpool. The news comes as a major blow to the Premier League leaders, who have been sidelined by key player Mohamed Salah for several weeks due to participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.
In addition, a video has been released showing Alexander-Arnold suffering injuries in a fight with 25-year-old Gabriel Martinelli. In the 68th minute of the game, Alexander-Arnold saw out the rest of the match despite picking up a knock.
Pretty mad to think Trent played half an hour with a tear in his knee.
Looked nasty tbh. pic.twitter.com/4nWp8LCk54
