Two Liverpool players have been banned from today’s Premier League game against Burnley. Jurgen Klopp may need a change. Liverpool face Burnley today in the easiest game of the Christmas season. Manchester United played Manchester United, West Ham United, Arsenal and Newcastle United in the Carabao Cup on New Year’s Day. This is the only game where Liverpool are overwhelmingly favored. But that doesn’t mean Jurgen Klopp isn’t worried about being picked today.
Thetwo oldest players are surrounded and have a yellow card. Wataru Endo and Darwin Nunez will be suspended for one match if they receive yellow cards against Burnley. This rules them out of the qualifiers against Newcastle United, a “tougher” fixture than Burnley. Klopp could decide to drop both for the Falcons. After all, the busy Christmas period is a time for variety and relaxation. An excuse for a break Endo and Nunes: two players who will play a key role in the Newcastle match.
What is worth noting is that Endo took the 4th place in the first half against ‘Arsenal’. But Klopp is confident he will play in 90 games. He is confident of avoiding a yellow card in the match against Burnley.Nunez is a different case. Unlike Endo, Liverpool have alternatives to the Uruguayan striker and it makes sense to keep him at Newcastle. Especially after a two-goal cameo off the bench at St James’ Park earlier in the season, winning the game.
Therefore, Klopp has several decisions to make. Liverpool only have to worry about a yellow card after a game as the number of yellow cards increases from 5 to 10.
