Trent Alexander-Arnold has expressed his pride and delight at the recent emergence of Conor Bradley and the strength of Liverpool’s youth academy.
With Alexander-Arnold sidelined from Arsenal in January with a knee injury, Bradley has become a standout for Jurgen Klopp’s side and has become a fan favorite in several games. The Northern Irishman scored his first goal against Chelsea and added two assists as United won 4-1 at Anfield. Alexander-Arnold now faces competition for a right-back like never before in his Liverpool career, but believes Bradley’s emergence demonstrates the talent the club’s academy boasts.
Of Bradley, he told the club’s official website: “I’m also grateful for all his efforts.“I think the way he performs and performs is fantastic. We train every day to see how good he is and how good the rest of the young players are. “This is a great time for the Academy. “It’s really nice to see.”
Of course, Alexander-Arnold has made a name for himself since graduating from the first team in 2016, being one of the best talents to emerge from Liverpool’s academy alongside Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher.Offering advice to up-and-coming youngsters, the Reds vice-captain admits that when it comes to yourself, don’t let the competition stand in your way and let your skills speak for themselves. “I think it’s hard to think about yourself and compare because you don’t know how good you are and you want to keep playing,” Alexander-Arnold added.
“I never thought about it. You are still focused on joining the team and becoming part of the first team. You are so focused that you don’t have time to think about anything else. “I think that’s definitely what young people are doing these days. They want to absorb as much information as possible and be as good as possible with boys and around them.
