Strasbourg head of recruitment Loic Desire had been to Brazil to watch Angelo play for Santos in each of the past three years. He shared his knowledge with Chelsea which helped convince them to sign the youngster for €15million. With Loic Desire already wanting Angelo at Strasbourg, it was an easy decision for Chelsea to send him there on loan after the pre-season tour, knowing the high regard in which he is held there.
