The Pittsburgh Steelers lost one of their offensive linemen on Monday when wide receivers coach Freesman announced that Jackson will not return to the team until the 2024 season.
This represents a unique opportunity for the Steelers. That’s because the team is rumored to be interested in interviewing a candidate to pair with new offensive coordinator Arthur Smith for a possible passing game coordinator position on the staff.A rising star who could fill both spots in the college rankings was highlighted by Steelers insider Christopher Carter of X.com.
“This could be an interesting place for the Steelers to find young minds with different minds to add to their staff, either in college or elsewhere. Guys like Brian Hartline at OSU, Ron Bellamy at Michigan or Brennan Marion at UNLV, a former Pitt recruit,” Carter said. Former NFL wide receiver Brian Hartline stood out at the college level.
After his playing career ended, Hartline joined the Ohio State University football team as a graduate student in 2017. After one season, Hartline became the interim receivers coach. His influence was quickly felt. In 2019, Ohio State removed Hartline’s interim title to keep him as receivers coach. In 2022, Hartline received another promotion when he was named passing game coordinator. Hartline is now listed as co-offensive coordinator and receivers coach. Still only 37 years old, Hartline’s coaching experience has allowed him to rise through the ranks at a very rapid pace. His coaching resume shows he is worthy.
