Less than two weeks have passed since the arrest before Alabama’s semifinal College Football Playoff matchup with Michigan. With head coach Nick Saban at the helm, the Crimson Tide could win their seventh national championship and their second in the last four years.
“Our group is thrilled to have this chance to play University of Michigan, the nation’s top team,” Saban stated earlier this month, as reported by Sports Illustrated. “The Big Ten champions have had an incredibly successful season. They deserve my congratulations for it. We’re excited about the challenge that lies ahead in terms of what we need to do to get ready and perform at our highest level against the nation’s top squad.”
