Despite reports that Jurgen Klopp will leave the club at the end of the season, Liverpool secured a place in the fifth round of the FA Cup after beating Norwich City.
Curtis Jones, Darwin Nunes, Ryan Gravenbirch, Diogo Iota and captain Virgil van Dijk all got on the scoresheet in a resounding 5-2 win over the Canaries. The Reds have moved one step closer to Klopp’s style departure, with wins in all four competitions still within the club’s reach. Liverpool currently lead the Premier League ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea and the Europa League play-offs.
Klopp and his men are currently taking each match with caution as they prepare to face Mauricio Pochettino’s side in the league on Wednesday night. The first meeting between the two sides ended in a 1–1 draw in August, with Luis Diaz’s opener denied by Axel Disasi before half-time.
Jurgen Klopp’s personal message to Liverpool players
According to The Athletic, Jurgen Klopp has spoken privately with the squad about his decision to leave Liverpool, joking that his players are “too good”.
His success this season gives us confidence that he will leave the club in good form. Part of the humor was the fact that many of the academy-bound players shone against Norwich in Liverpool’s last cup win. Without Klopp, the future looks very bright.
