The Green Bay Packers held their second practice of the week on Thursday, but AJ Dillon sat out last week’s game against the Chicago Bears with a neck injury. He is now in danger of missing Sunday’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.
Dillon appeared in a bandage while stretching with the team at the start of Thursday’s practice, but returned to rehab during an individual practice. The failure to take reps for the second straight day raises questions about his availability for next Sunday’s game against the Cowboys.
Dillon will have one more chance to participate in practice before the Packers decide on his status. Expect Patrick Taylor to take more snaps with Aaron Jones if he doesn’t dress on Sunday. Aaron Jones worked out in limited practice with the Green Bay Packers on Thursday.
Jones, who has rushed for at least 110 yards in his last three games, practiced on a limited basis Thursday after being reported for injury due to knee and finger issues. If Jones misses teammate AJ Dillon against Dallas, he could be the workhorse again.
Jones totaled 27 tackles last Sunday against the Bears and was a big part of the offense’s success, picking up some key first downs during the game to help secure a playoff berth. In three career games against the Cowboys, Jones has carried the ball 62 times for 370 yards and six touchdowns.
While Dillon is at risk of missing the game, there is some comfort in knowing that Jones hit his entire career against Dallas and could have another big performance Sunday if his knees and fingers are OK.
