Prince William and Princess Kate married in a fairytale wedding on April 29, 2011, but one of their greatest joys came two years later, on July 22, 2013, when the royal couple became parents for the first time with the birth of Prince George.
When the future King was introduced to the world less than 24 hours after his birth, his parents appeared to be in love with him. George was born in the Lindo wing of St Mary’s Hospital, just as his father had been 31 years before.
The couple’s pleasure returned less than two years later when they welcomed Princess Charlotte into the world on May 2, 2015. Like her older brother, Charlotte was welcomed into the world within hours of her birth by her happy parents. Charlotte’s arrival was announced by gunfire, and in her honor, several national sites were also illuminated in pink.
