Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Maxx Crosby has a strong opinion on who should be the team’s next head coach. They are so determined that they are willing to take serious risks if their desires are not fulfilled.
Crosby believes the Raiders should remove Antonio Pierce’s interim tag and make him the full-time head coach. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Crosby will consider requesting a trade if the Raiders don’t sign Pierce.
Crosby encouraged the Raiders to hire Pierce in a social media post Friday. In person, he expressed his views more clearly. It could work, as reports suggest Pierce was leading after a 5-4 win. The Raiders certainly want nothing to do with the hapless Crosby, who racked up 14.5 sacks in a dominant 2023 campaign.
It’sworth noting that the last time the Raiders had a coaching change in the offseason, Rich Bisaccia went 7-5 as the interim coach and was just as popular with the players. However, despite Crosby’s public support, Bisaccia was not considered for the permanent position and the Raiders decided to hire Josh McDaniels.
It was a colossal failure, and Pierce took over as interim coach after McDaniels was fired on October 1st. 31. Crosby’s strong stance may have been inspired by this situation, and Davis may have learned a lesson from it.
