Mason Mount’s Premier League stats compared to Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes

As Erik ten Hag continues to assemble a very threatening collection of midfielders, Mason Mount will soon join Manchester United.

With Mount, Casemiro, Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, Scott McTominay, and Fred all vying for game-starting opportunities, the starting lineup is currently a little bloated. Man Utd will pay £55 million for Mount in the agreement, which was reached after a protracted saga, with a potential $5 million in add-ons.

Ten Hag needs to focus on figuring out where he belongs into a Man Utd squad that last year finished third in the Premier League, won the Carabao Cup, and advanced to the FA Cup final.

Fernandes and Mount are set to compete head-to-head in the near future.

Mason Mount has spent his entire Premier League career with Chelsea, where he frequently enjoys a great deal of leeway to perform in any capacities he deems fit. He is a natural attacker, and it has only been during his most recent season with Chelsea that questions have begun to be raised about his skills.

The 2022–23 season was marked by significant instability in the squad and the hiring of three new managers, thus the England international can be excused for not performing at his peak. He had four complete seasons with Chelsea’s first squad, with the 2021–22 season being his most fruitful with 11 goals and 10 assists.
