Bernardo himself reportedly dreams of playing for the Blaugrana and his agent, Jorge Mendes, is trying to facilitate a move.
Amidst this, though, Manchester City have tabled a fresh contract offer for the versatile midfielder to try and tie him down at the Etihad.
Indeed, as per reports relayed by Mundo Deportivo, the Premier League and European champions have tabled a renewal proposal until 2027 for their key man.
Silva is, undoubtedly, one of the main components of Pep Guardiola’s setup. And it makes sense for them to try and retain his services for a longer period, especially with widespread interest in his services.
As mentioned earlier, Barcelona are very keen on signing Silva, although the Catalans’ financial situation would make the deal nearly impossible unless there are some major departures from the club in the coming weeks.
As iterated before, the former AS Monaco man is also wanted by PSG and Al Hilal. The latter would be able to offer him a lucrative contract but he prefers continuing in Europe. And while he prefers Barça, the economic reality at the club means that Paris could be a realistic destination.
Either way, Manchester City are not going to go down without a fight and are making attempts to keep Silva at the club by offering him an extension until 2027. His current deal expires in 2025. It remains to be seen what the Portuguese ace decides, but a move to Barcelona might elude him once again as things stand.
