Liverpool target Dominik Szoboszlai showed his elite mentality when Neymar tried to put him off last minute penalty

The massive £60 million addition to Liverpool Dominik Szoboszlai, then a player for RB Leipzig, demonstrated ice in his veins during a conversation with Neymar in 2021.

The Reds acted quickly to exercise Szoboszlai’s release clause shortly before it was set to expire on June 30 after it was allegedly difficult for them to complete a deal for the midfielder.

Prior to Szoboszlai becoming Liverpool’s second summer addition, personal arrangements have been agreed upon, and medical exams have now been scheduled.

The excitement among fans for what Szoboszlai can bring to Liverpool is palpable, with many praising the way the PSG sensation Neymar was subdued by him.

A few years ago, PSG had a 2-1 advantage in a group stage match thanks to two goals from Georginio Wijnaldum.

However, a last-second blunder by defender Presnel Kimpembe to challenge Nkunku inside the box led to a spot-kick being granted after a thorough VAR review.

When Szoboszlai seized the ball, there was already intense pressure after Gianluigi Donnarumma saved Andre Silva’s penalty.

Neymar then approached and made an effort to influence him. Szoboszlai then disclosed all of the Brazilian’s psychological tricks.

“He was asking me: ‘You going to score?'” Szoboszlai said in a post-game interview.

“Yes, I said. ‘Are you sure?’ he questioned. I affirmed. I never forget. What is is what is.

The psychological tricks had no impact on Szoboszlai in the slightest, as he confidently converted his penalty to score the equalizer.

Szoboszlai wasn’t lying when he boasted he never misses a shot. In his whole career, he has only missed one of his 16 attempted penalties.

A compilation reveals that the 22-year-old consistently chooses the side to the right of the goalkeeper.

Although they anticipate where he would lay the ball and how he will dive, no goalkeeper has any chance of coming close to it because to his power and placement.

Liverpool may have just found their next goal scorer.
