Liverpool will welcome five players to Brentford for a Premier League match on Saturday (12.30 GMT). Mo Salah is back in contention having been absent for the Reds since their win over Newcastle United on New Year’s Day.
The winger, who scored 18 goals this season, went to the Africa Cup of Nations with Egypt jersey, despite his ankle injury ending the season early. Salah has been away from the field for the last four weeks but returned to training earlier this week. Jürgen Klopp has confirmed that Liverpool’s talisman will return to the team. The same will be true for Joe Gomez, who missed last week’s 3-1 win against Burnley due to illness. Meanwhile, Conor Bradley has returned to training after taking a break following the death of his father. Ibrahima Konate was also suspended for one match.
However, there will not be seven players in the team. Liverpool suffered from Alisson Becker’s knee injury. The player, who missed the match against Burnley due to his illness, is expected to return, but now his problem will be evaluated. Trent Alexander-Arnold (knee) and Dominic Szoboszlai (hamstring) have problems and are unavailable.
Liverpool are eyeing Szoboszlai for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Chelsea, while Alexander-Arnold has been ruled out. Joel Matip (knee), Thiago Alcantara (muscle), Ben Doak (knee) and Stefan Bajcetic (growing pain) are the other missing players. If Liverpool win, Manchester City and Arsenal will move five points clear at the top of the Premier League table before facing Chelsea and Burnley respectively. Liverpool player vs Brentford
