Larry Bird said that during the game, Michael Jordan was superior to everyone else….
Many people believe that Michael Jordan is the best player in NBA history. In addition to his play, Jordan is frequently recognized with changing the NBA and the game of basketball in general by drawing a large number of new fans to the organization. Although it took Jordan some time to win a championship, one NBA icon knew he was superior to everyone from the start.
As part of the NBA 75 promotion, Michael Jordan was recently discussed by a number of NBA icons. Larry Bird, a friend and former rival of Jordan, observed that Jordan could outmaneuver his opponents in a variety of ways, including defensively, offensively, and emotionally. When Bird was still playing, he added, he realized very early on that Jordan was superior to every player in the NBA (0:17 onwards).
During the initial stages of Michael Jordan’s NBA career, Bird faced off against him as a member of the Boston Celtics in the playoffs. In Jordan’s early career, Larry and the Celtics swept Jordan and the Bulls twice. However, MJ created history by surpassing the record by scoring 63 points in a single playoff game against the Celtics. Larry Bird claimed after the game that Michael Jordan’s performance that evening was a sign from God.
Jordan held Larry Bird in high regard. However, he said upon his retirement that he would never have desired to collaborate with Magic Johnson or him. Jordan mentioned that he was too competitive to ever play with Larry and Magic when discussing LeBron’s desire to join Miami. Bird and Michael Jordan only ever collaborated during the 1992 Dream Team Olympics and All-Star Games.
