Mo Salah is one of Liverpool’s best signings of the Premier League era. Salah has scored 204 goals in 332 games for the Reds since joining Roma in June 2017; 151 of these were in 238 Premier League matches.
The 31-year-old has been playing for Liverpool for six and a half seasons, but is his Anfield career nearing its end? Liverpool legend Mark Lawrenson believes the 2023/24 season will be Salah’s last season on Merseyside.
Salah is contracted until June 2025 but Lawrenson told Paddy Power this week: “Mo Salah will 100 per cent leave this summer. “Whatever happens this season, I think a promise was made last summer. He will go to places like Saudi Arabia to play and hopefully Liverpool will get a big fee and move some players out of here. ” Salah Will be the king of Saudi Arabia! He could have burst into Jürgen Klopp’s office last summer and said ‘I want to go’, but he didn’t. ” Lawrenson added that Salah’s friends will know that he will leave soon.
He also said that other Liverpool players who could play in the Egypt position would also be suitable for the role that will replace him. Former defender Lawrenson spent seven seasons at Liverpool in the 1980s, making 356 first team appearances. Won 13 trophies with the Reds, including five league titles and the 1984 European Cup. Salah has won seven trophies at Liverpool so far
