Liverpool fans were furious with Andreas Pereira’s response to Virgil van Dijk’s criticism and also targeted match referee David Coote.Fulham took the lead through Willian after a set-up mistake by Van Dijk. The Liverpool captain was shown a yellow card for a foul on Pereira following the header.
Van Dijk caught the Fulham midfielder in the face and the player also caught him and fell to the ground. Coote warned the star defender after Liverpool fans criticized the referee and former Liverpool player’s reaction.
