The report claims Guimaraes is one of the players Newcastle’s board have shortlisted to help “close the score”, while Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Barcelona and Chelsea have been named as possible destinations should the ‘spear’ separate Guimaraes has been an excellent addition to Newcastle’s midfield since joining from Lyon in January 2022.
The Magpies were embroiled in a relegation battle at the time, but he helped spark the Toon’s revival alongside fellow striker Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood and Dan Burn. In the Eredivisie. The 25-year-old impressed as Newcastle finished fourth in 2022/23, scoring four goals and providing five assists in 32 Premier League games for Guimaraes.
Guimarez hasn’t been at his best this season, but his overall performances since arriving at St James’ Park have been rewarded with a new long-term deal at the start of this season. Howe is excited about it.
