Injuries and Transactions: The Dodgers have completed a four-player trade with the Rays.

Dec. 16: RHP Tyler Glasnow and OF Manuel Margot were acquired from the Rays in exchange for RHP Ryan Pepiot and OF Jonny DeLuca Glasnow and the Dodgers agreed to a five-year, $136.5 million contract extension that includes a $30 million club option for 2028 (and, if the club does not exercise it, a $20 million player option). Tampa Bay also paid the Dodgers $4 million in cash.

RHP Daniel Hudson signs a Minor League contract on December 13 (source).

The reliever, a 14-year veteran who turns 37 in March, is in his third stint with the Dodgers, where he recorded a 3.31 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP, and a 121 ERA+ in portions of the 2018 season, ’22 season, and ’23 season. He was limited to three appearances last year due to a right MCL sprain, following left ACL surgery the year before. Last month, the Dodgers declined Hudson’s $6.5 million club option for ’24.

A source told MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand that Hudson’s contract guaranteed him $2 million, with additional $2 million in performance bonuses if he joins the big league team.

Shohei Ohtani, DH/RHP, inked a 10-year, $700 million contract on December 11th.

The record-breaking deal will keep the two-way superstar and two-time AL MVP in Los Angeles until 2023.

RHP Joe Kelly agreed to a one-year, $8 million contract.

Following a trade with the Yankees to make room on the roster, the Dodgers announced their agreement to re-sign the 35-year-old reliever for another season. Kelly pitched for the Dodgers from 2019 to 21 before joining the White Sox prior of the 22 season. He returned to the Dodgers as part of the Lance Lynn deal at the end of the season, missing a month due to right forearm discomfort but having a 1.74 ERA in 11 games when healthy. Kelly has a 3.95 ERA, a 1.36 WHIP, and 732 strikeouts in 450 games over a 12-year career.
