Harrison Ford Expresses His “Extremely Deep Gratitude” for Being Born in Indiana…
Harrison Ford remarked, “I had never been offered anything that attractive before,” during the “Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny” premiere.
As he dons the iconic Indiana Jones costume for the last time, the 80-year-old actor talked about what drew him to the famed role on Wednesday. Ford told reporters at the Los Angeles premiere of Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, “It was a wonderful script.”
“Steven Spielberg was the director at the time, and I had never been offered anything that attractive before, so I’m very, very grateful for that,” Ford said, adding how “grateful” he was for the opportunity.
At the Hollywood Dolby Theater for the debut, Ford was accompanied by his spouse, Calista Flockhart. The day before their 13th wedding anniversary, on June 15, 2010 in New Mexico, the couple made an appearance. Ford had proposed over Valentine’s Day weekend the previous year.
Ford showed up to the premiere wearing a black suit and tie, while Flockhart,58, looked stunning in an off-the-shoulder black top and a striking golden-yellow Ralph Lauren skirt, which she initially wore to the 1999 Emmys.
The enduring pair most recently made an appearance together at the film’s world premiere at the Cannes Film Festival in May 2023, when Ford accepted an honorary Palme d’Or, the festival’s top award, in recognition of his career accomplishments in the motion picture business. Just before Dial of Destiny’s world premiere, he took the prize and used the occasion to honor his 13-year wife. He said to the crowd, “My life has been enabled by my lovely wife, who has supported my passions and my dreams and I’m grateful.”
