Everton are in talks with Manchester United over a deal to sign winger Anthony Elanga – and Sean Dyche’s plans to make an exciting triple signing are likely to play nicely into Leeds United’s hands.
The Toffees were locked in another desperate battle to stay afloat in the Premier Legaue last season. And the board’s decision to roll the dice and replace Frank Lampard with Dyche in January proved a successful one with Everton ultimately finishing 17th.
After back-to-back seasons where they have been embroiled in a scrap for safety, Dyche will be desperate to ensure they can push towards the realms of mid-table safety.
But with funds tights at Goodison, Dyche will be have to spend his cash carefully.
And with a lack of goals Everton’s obvious Achilles heel – they only scored 34 times in 38 Premier League games last season – it is an area Dyche is keen to address.
To that end, Thursday’s Transfer Gossip has detailed that Everton are chasing not one, but two strikers this summer.
Top of their wanted is French striker Moussa Dembele, who is a free agent after leaving Lyon following the expiry of his contract.
The 26-year-old has 140 goals from 337 career games so certainly knows his way to goal. And with experience in the Premier League with Fulham, it is easy to see why Everton are desperate to get their hands on the free agent.
And he might not be the only striker Dyche lands on this summer either. Per Football Transfers, the Toffees are also looking into a possible raid for veteran Leicester striker Jamie Vardy.
