Diogo Jota scored his 50th career Liverpool goal in a 2-0 win over Burnley on Boxing Day.Jota has missed Liverpool’s last eight games with a thigh injury but looked sharp after coming off the bench in the 84th minute at Turf Moor.
The Portuguese forward was replaced by Darwin Nunes, who had earlier given the Reds a sixth-minute lead with a low strike from 20 yards.Cody Gakpo and Harvey Elliott failed to score, but Jota secured a deserved victory in extra time. Jota received a neat pass from Luis Diaz and fired past James Trafford from a tight angle.
