Celtics star Jayson Tatum’s Reaction to Position in NBA jersey sales….

With the first half of the 2023-2024 NBA season scheduled, it’s time for NBAStore.com to release its annual “Best Selling Uniforms” list.

Each year, this list provides a clear picture of who is important in any given NBA season. Of course, it’s not always perfect. The love for LaMelo Ball excites me and pisses me off that the best basketball player in the world is one step ahead of him on the list…but I digress…but that’s how it always is. Worth digging.

Midway through the season, Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum ranked second on the best-selling jersey list, his highest spot on the semi-annual list. Tatum gave a brief response to his inclusion on the list via Twitter. Jayson Tatum might think that’s crazy, but it makes perfect sense to me.

Tatum, 25, is a rising star who continues to improve every year. One could argue that this year, at least at this point, Tatum is recognized as the best player on the best team in the league. It also helps that he plays for one of the top franchises in all of professional sports.Tatum led the NBA-leading Boston Celtics to a 36-11 record with 26.9 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.4 assists in 47/36/81 splits.

A week ago, Tatum was announced as an All-Star starter, marking his fourth NBA All-Star appearance. As for the rest of the list, there aren’t many surprises other than Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid making the top 10. It was somewhat of a surprise that young men Jalen Brunson, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Tyrese Haliburton played. Brunson, in particular, is quickly establishing himself as one of the most beloved Knicks of the 21st century.
