Celtics: Did Jayson Tatum offend Stephen Curry by using…
Hearing NBA players’ thoughts on some subjects that nearly always spark debate on social media is entertaining for viewers. One such subject is the identity of the league’s most talented players. Individuals have different perceptions of skill, but NBA players—like Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics—give these talks legitimacy. Fans are not required to share their viewpoints, though.
In an interview with Complex Sports, Tatum revealed his ranking of the NBA’s top five players. He listed himself, naturally, along with Kevin Durant, Devin Booker (his Team USA teammates from 2021), Paul George (a player to whom he has been compared), and Kyrie Irving (his former Celtics teammate). However, the Golden State Warriors’ star Stephen Curry was conspicuously excluded by Tatum, and fans didn’t let him let it finish.
On Instagram, fans said that Jayson Tatum must have forgotten that it was Curry who, in the 2022 NBA Finals, put the Celtics’ defense to the test and denied the esteemed team its 18th championship.
One person commented, “He forgot his father Wardell Stephen Curry.” “He can’t mention Steph. That man sent him to sleep in an embarrassing fashion 😂,” another person stated.
It was inevitable that there would be obvious omissions in a list of five. Because of this, it’s difficult to criticize Jayson Tatum too much for leaving out the Warriors star, even when it causes controversy among fans who are bored with the preseason.
