Ray-Ray McCloud of the San Francisco 49ers has been activated from the Injured Reserve List
The San Francisco 49ers made a few moves before of Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Rams.
Ross Dwelley, a tight end, has been placed on the Injured Reserve List. That means Dwelley will have to miss at least four games, thereby terminating his 2023 season.
Tight end in his rookie season In Dwelley’s absence, Brayden Willis has stepped in. Willis played 19 special teams snaps in Week 17 against the Washington Commanders. We’ll see if the 49ers’ 7th-round rookie tight end can cover kicks in the playoffs.
Jauan Jennings, a wide receiver, was downgraded to out because he has not to clear the concussion protocol. This will be Jennings’ third consecutive game missing. Danny Gray has also been demoted to out.
The good news is that the Niners Ray-Ray McCloud was activated from the Injured Reserve List. McCloud will most likely get a couple of carries and fill in for Deebo on Sunday. Most significantly, the 49ers regained possession of their returner. McCloud has demonstrated his ability to flip the field when he has the ball in his hands.
Kyle Juszczyk has been labeled with a new injury. He is listed as having a “illness.” Juszczyk receives a $23,500 incentive for each game he plays this season.
From the practice squad, the team activated safety Tayler Hawkins and running back Jeremy McNichols.
On Sunday, depth at safety could be an issue. The only healthy players at the position are Hawkins and veteran Logan Ryan. According to defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, cornerbacks Isaiah Oliver and If necessary, and Samuel Womack can play safety.
