Liverpool have made a late decision on Bobby Clarke. The teenager was linked with a move on transfer deadline day. Athletic’s James Pearce has revealed that Liverpool have decided against taking Bobby Clarke on loan. The 18-year-old has been linked to a postseason exit that was supposed to happen earlier this season.
Clarke was close to joining Derby County this summer, but according to the Derby Telegraph, the Reds decided to keep him at the last minute. Jurgen Klopp was central and wanted a midfielder in his squad. However, an injury forced Clark to leave the team and he started playing only a few minutes. The Liverpool Echo report that this has led to rumors that Liverpool could take him out on loan.
Pearce has confirmed he is indeed interested, but the Reds will change their mind again and keep Clarke in the starting line-up.”Bobby Clark isn’t going anywhere today,” Pierce wrote on X. “This young midfielder is now considered an important part of Liverpool’s first team.”We played four games in January. “The interest on the loan is much, but there is no interest.”
Liverpool currently compete in four competitions so it makes sense to keep the option open. However, it remains to be seen how much football Clarke will be able to play due to the squad’s lack of midfielders. Harvey will struggle to start a game, let alone an inexperienced player like Elliott Clarke.
James McConnell, 19, played and provided an assist against Norwich City. So we’ll have to wait and see what the plans are here. But it’s clear that Liverpool and Klopp have a lot of faith in Clarke. Has impressed since joining from Newcastle United in 2021. The future looks bright. And that future could soon be at Anfield.
