A great weekend with Prince William and Princess Kate.
Kensington Palace has announced that the Prince and Princess of Wales will visit the Rugby World Cup this weekend in France.
William and Kate will visit different days of the competition; on Saturday, the Prince—who is the patron of the Welsh Rugby Union—will be present at the Stade de Marseille to watch the quarterfinal encounter between Wales and Argentina. As the patron of the Rugby Football Union, Kate plans to attend the quarterfinal match between England and Fiji on Sunday and support her country. The start time of both weekend games is 4 p.m. UK time.
The children Prince George, eleven, Princess Charlotte, eight, and Prince Louis, five, may or may not accompany the couple. Given that Pippa Middleton and James Matthews’ eldest child, Arthur, turns five on Sunday, the royal children may get together with their cousins, Pippa Middleton and James Matthews’ three children, at some time during their October half-term vacation, which ends on Friday.
Following in the footsteps of her brother-in-law Prince Harry, the Princess was chosen patron of both the Rugby Football Union and the Rugby Football League in February 2022. At that point, Kensington Palace stated: “These new patronages, which have been given to The Duchess by Her Majesty The Queen, closely align with Her Royal Highness’ longstanding passion for sport and the lifelong benefits it can provide, both within our communities and on an individual level.”
