The 25-year-old Milanese, ranked No. 6 in the rankings and the youngest winner of his first “1000” trophy on the Monte-Carlo shore, will be the second participant after the 2021 competition; the 24-year-old Atene, ranked No. 5 in the rankings, will make his fourth appearance.
Last year, the “Laver Cup” served as the grand finale of Roger Federer’s comeback to the tour. Federer, who played the double match in doubles with Rafael Nadal for Team Europe, was the event’s creator and co-organizer along with his legendary agent Tony Godsick. The first time the team played in the “O2 Arena” in London was after four straight losses.
