Jimmy Connors discusses Danielle Collins’ potential “mental struggle”…
After a remarkable run of performance that has seen her play the best tennis of her life, American tennis icon Jimmy Connors believes that Danielle Collins is likely “rethinking” her decision to retire. The 30-year-old Collins told media that she was playing her final match on the Tour following her close defeat to Iga Swiatek in a close second-round encounter at the Australian Open. Collins has been among the finest players on the Tour ever since. Most recently, she won a WTA 500 tournament in Charleston, finished in the semifinals of the most recent Rome Open, and emerged victorious in the WTA 1000 in Miami.
Collins has also significantly raised her standing since the beginning of the year; she is currently ranked as the 12th player in the world.
Collins’ shape naturally led to people asking her if she would change her mind. However, Collins has insisted thus far that her decision to retire will stand because she wants to devote all of her attention to treating her endometriosis, which is preventing her from fulfilling her aspirations of becoming a mother.
“Danielle Collins’ performance during the past six to seven weeks and her outcomes. Her level of confidence must be really high. “She’s done well in a few tournaments; she made it to the Rome 1000 tournament semifinals,” Connors stated on the Advantage Connors podcast.
