Tank Dell, a wide receiver for the Houston Texans, was shot shortly after midnight on Sunday, and the NFL organization has announced that Dell sustained a “minor” injury.
The Texans released a statement saying, “We have been informed that Tank Dell was a victim of a shooting in Sanford last night.”
“Although he had a small cut, he was discharged from the hospital and is doing well.
“Please respect his privacy at this time. We are in communication with him and his family and will provide more updates as appropriate. We are praying and thinking for everyone who was impacted by the incident.”
A shooting outside of a nightclub injured ten people, including Dell, according to Florida media reports. According to the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office, none of the victims’ wounds pose a threat to their lives.
Following his arrest, a 16-year-old was charged with attempted murder among other offenses.
In a Facebook post, the location stated that it was reserved for a private event on Saturday night and that the proprietors were still compiling details.
Dell, 24, was born in Daytona Beach, which is close by. With 47 receptions for 709 yards and seven touchdowns in his first 11 games (eight starts) in 2023, he had a fantastic rookie campaign. However, he missed the remainder of the season after breaking his leg early in a Week 12 game against Denver.
