The Las Vegas Raiders are one of the best defenses in the NFL this season, especially late in the game. Since coach Antonio Pierce took over, the Raiders’ defense has become one of the best in the league in many ways. Pierce and defensive coordinator Patrick Graham have taken Las Vegas’ defense to unexpected new heights. They had one of the lowest defensive billings in the NFL and made the most of it.
The Raiders have one of the youngest defenses in the NFL, a useless defensive end in Maxx Crosby at the other end, and an underrated linebacker unit. It makes them a good enough team to safely shut out Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs. While the Raiders’ defense has improved, it’s unlikely the team will be this good next season without adding talent. Sportskeeda’s Tony Pauline believes he could make a splash for L’Jarius Sneed, one of the Raiders’ best defensive ends.
“There were rumors during Senior Bowl week that Kansas City would offer the franchise title to Snead this offseason, a move that would cost approximately $19 million,” Pauline said. “If he hits the open market, Snead would need to sign a long-term deal averaging $18.5 million per year, slightly less than his tag price. Where could the Chiefs go if they can’t sign Sneed this winter? Keep an eye on the Atlanta Falcons, Dallas Cowboys and Las Vegas Raiders. ” The Raiders may need a cornerback, especially with veteran Amik Robertson leaving the team as a free agent. But despite his return, the Raiders could still consider adding Snead to their roster.
Signing Snead Adding Snead to their roster will help the Raiders in several ways. This would also hurt its biggest rivals. The NFL Scouting Combine will be held from February 27 to March 4, 2024 at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana. The NFL Draft will be held April 25-27, 2024 in Detroit, Michigan. The Las Vegas Raiders currently sit 13th overall.
