There has been speculation for months that Adams wants out of Las Vegas at the age of 31, which could lead to rumors of a possible reunion with former quarterback Aaron Rodgers, possibly with the Jets. The Raiders have been confirmed willing to engage in such a trade scenario. But wait a minute. A potential deal for Adams may not pan out as expected, according to information shared by NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on the pregame show.
“The Las Vegas Raiders are not currently in the business of offering players in winning mode. So I think Aaron Rodgers tried to bring Davante Adams to the Jets. Remember the Jets ran against him last year and nothing happened. He is expected to try again in the offseason. From what I’ve heard, the Raiders want to win, I think they can, and they’re not going to trade Davante Adams.There may be mixed reactions from Raiders fans to this news. Despite a tumultuous year in Las Vegas in which Adams played with three different starters, including a rookie, he still put up impressive numbers. 103 catches, 1,144 yards, 8 touchdowns.
Keeping Adams will undoubtedly bolster the Raiders offense, which will continue to rely on a defense that has improved significantly throughout the season. The defense can continue to improve through potential internal growth and additions through free agency. Offensively, the team is set to rely on Josh Jacobs and Adams, a dynamic duo that the team believes will stick with the team. Strengthening the offensive line is an important area for the future.
